George Manneh Weah A Leader Is Born From Player To President

I don’t know much about the upbringing of George Manneh Weah so I am unable to write much about his childhood. What I do know is he had a very difficult childhood, a one of server poverty and hardship, which includes poor living conditions, lack of proper education, unable to have regular meals, and the wearing of torn-up clothing. Growing up as a boy, George Manneh Weah’s only escape from such harsh reality of poverty was on the soccer field with the soccer ball. On the soccer field, George Manneh Weah felt important and nothing else mattered once he was with the ball because for him that is where he found peace.

 

Brief History Of George Manneh Weah Soccer Achievement 

George Manneh Weah was born in Monrovia Liberia West Africa October 01/1966 and did not have the luxury opportunity most kids had, so he dedicated most of his time to playing soccer with the hope that maybe one day his talent will be his get out of Africa, get out of poverty ticket. With that hope and dream in mind with constant practics of the sport he loves so much, his dream came true when he got discovered by Arsene Wenger who brought him to Europe and signed him with Monaco in 1988.

This was just the beginning of his dreams coming true cause in 1992 after he moved to Paris Saint-Germain, he won Ligue 1 in 1994, making him the top scorer of the 1994-1995 UEFA Champions League. There is a saying that when God is ready to bless you, even your enemies will recognize the work of the true God Jehovah. The blessings kept coming in for George Manneh Weah, cause in 1995, he signed with AC Milan and spent four successful seasons with them winning Serie A twice. In 1995, he was named FIFA World Player Of The Year winning the Ballon d’Or, and the only African player to win these awards.

George Manneh Weah then moved to the Premier League almost at the end of his career and had the opportunity to play for Chelsea and Manchester City winning the FA Cup. In 2001, George Manneh Weah played for Marseille and ended his career with Al-Jazira in 2003.

 

George Manneh Weah represented his country Liberia on two occasions at the African Cup Of Nations where he score a total of 18 goals. George Manneh Weah was named African Footballer Of The Year in 1989, 1994, 1995, and in 1996 he was named African Player Of The Century. George Manneh Weah was recognized as a Multi-Functional Strikers by FIFA and is known for his amazing soccer skills and abilities such as his acceleration, speed, dribbling, goalscoring, and finishing. George Manneh Weah made the list of FIFA’s world’s 100 greatest living players.

 

President George Manneh Weah In His Own Words, His Love For His People And His Country Liberia:

President George Manneh Weah said he was never the first pick for the Liberian people but because he had been patient enough to wait his turn in leadership, it lead him to where he is today as president of the Republic of Liberia. He also said the expectation of the Liberian people is high but if they will agree to work together, these expectations can be met. President George Manneh Weah said his goal is to build Liberia’s economy by promoting agriculture so it can enable the people to be self-sufficient and that will attract direct foreign investment. He said the reason he is focusing on building roads in Liberia is to connect Liberia with neighboring countries and other counties within the country Liberia, which will lead to a boom in Liberia’s economy through agriculture. President George Manneh Weah said when there are no roads, there will be no transportation of crops.

President George Manneh Weah said he is doing everything to make sure Liberia succeeds and that is why he is encouraging Liberians to pay their taxes, and by Liberians paying their taxes will greatly help Liberia’s economy to grow. President George Manneh Weah said tourism is another aspect where Liberia’s economy can have growth as well and Liberia being the oldest Africa country, why are we not involved in exporting when other countries younger than Liberia are already benefiting from their agriculture exporting. He also went on to say we got many things we can use for exporting for example cocoa, palm oil, and much more.

President George Manneh Weah is encouraging Liberians who are living outside Liberia around the world to return to Liberia and invest in a business that will help bring jobs creation for local Liberians living in Liberia and will increase the employment rate in Liberia. He also set a challenge for Liberians living out of Liberia to return to Liberia and start a business which includes the opening of factories. President George Manneh Weah said since he propose the challenge, not a single Liberian living outside Liberia has shown up to complete the task and fulfill the challenge.

President George Manneh Weah said Liberia needs to promote the energy sector in Liberia so that Liberians wanting to open factories will be encouraged to do so and that will help grow Liberia’s economy. He said without Liberia having proper energy function, it will be impossible for these factories to run their business. President George Manneh Weah said he want Liberians living outside Liberia to return home and work and that is why he propose the right to duo citizenship in Liberia and by Liberia legalizing the duo citizenship law, it will give these Liberians the same equal rights as Liberians living inside Liberia. He said he believes there are lots of Liberians who are investors living out of Liberia that need to return home and the only way they will feel welcome home is to have their rights to duo citizenship.

President George Manneh Weah said that with all the travel opportunities he had, he still wouldn’t choose another country over Liberia. He said Liberia is his home, the land of his birth and there is no place he rather is than Liberia. President George Manneh Weah said the election does not determine his love for Liberia, he also said even if he goes to the election 10 times and loses, that still will not give him enough reason to bring a war to destroy his country Liberia. President George Manneh Weah said that Liberia is his home and even if he wasn’t the president of Liberia, he will still have a home in Liberia because his body and soul are a part of Liberia. He said he will always love Liberia.

President George Manneh Weah said being the leader of Liberia is indeed a very difficult task because Liberians want to see Liberia rebuilt quickly after many years of civil war and to rebuild a country after many years of destruction takes time and Liberians are not patient enough to see Liberia get there. He said still with all that, he and his team are trying their best to meet up with the expectation of the Liberian people. He also said the government can not do it alone, that to get Liberia there will also take the help of the citizens of Liberia. President George Manneh Weah said he has no regrets being the president of Liberia and he did not cheat anyone to be where he is today as president of the Republic of Liberia. He said he waited his turn to become president and those who are not happy about it need to move on so that Liberia can move on because he is moving on by bringing development and stability to Liberia.

President George Manneh Weah said for so long Liberian Women had fought to be included in society and now with his leadership, women are being included in the government and in the decision-making of Liberia. President George Manneh Weah’s advice to kids across Africa living in the Getto or not is for them to remain humble, persistent, hard-working, and to have self-confidence because lots of people put people down. President George Manneh Weah said when he was growing up, lots of people he encounter put him down by telling him that he will become nothing at all. His advice is that the negativity from people should never bring you down but rather use it as your motivation to become the better version of yourself. He said when even people criticized him, it only motivate him to do better to show the people who criticized him that their opinion of him does not determine who he will become.

President George Manneh Weah said with everything he has archived in his life, there still are people out there who think he doesn’t deserve it, even people in his own country Liberia when he won the Ballon d’Or said he didn’t deserve to have it. President George Weah said he has set a record for Africa and he is grateful to God for where he had come from to be where he is today. He said without God, he would have been nothing.

President George Manneh Weah said keeping the peace in Liberia is very important for the growth of Liberia when it comes to people visitation, tourism, and investment. He said without maintaining the peace in Liberia, Liberians will sacred people away from returning to Liberia because some people are still afraid of what happened in Liberia with the past war in Liberia.

President George Manneh Weah said the best part of becoming president of the Republic of Liberia is having the opportunity to communicate with his Liberian people about the importance of keeping the peace in Liberia.
